Stationed at both Crater Lake’s Camp Wineglass and Oregon Cave’s Forest Camp, Robert Stangeland photographed his Civilian Conservation Corps experience on his days off. While many of these photos are of his pals, the images also show life here in 1934 as these young men earned a dollar a day plus a bed and food. It was a life-changing experience for all as they learned trades used later in life, and build our National Parks as you see them today almost a century later.
