Preliminary Draft Environmental Assessment for
Crater Lake Master Plan
Introduction
The National Park Service is in the process of developing a master plan for Crater Lake National Park. Field studies in the past few years have included a wilderness suitability study associated with an earlier master plan proposal. Requirements for compliance with provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and other issues prompted the need for a reexamination of the master plan alternatives. In 1974 another field study was made in this regard with the development of the draft alternatives herein presented.
It is important that we receive your written comments and viewpoints prior to making a master plan proposal for Crater Lake National Park.
Two meetings have been scheduled for the specific purpose of explaining and discussing the alternatives and answering any questions you may have on the subject.
