Ron-Pumice-Field-Tire-Tracks

Park Vandalism: November 24, 2019, photo taken at the first pumice field about two miles above park Headquarters. There are nearby experiential plantings of whitebark pine here, and some may have been crushed beneath the tires. Pumice fields not places to drive as they represent what Mount Mazama looked like after the eruption 7700 years ago. This act of vandalism ruined our heritage – your heritage. To us, it’s the same as cutting an old-growth tree in Redwood National Park. Photo by Ron Mastrogiuseppe of CLI.
