MEDFORD, Ore., Oct. 26 – (AP) – A mystery cloud, rising from Crater Lake – site of an extinct volcano was reported today by E. P. Leavitt, superintendent of Crater Lake National Park.
This is the fourth time within weeks that creditable witnesses have described seeing a strange cloud, as of smoke or gas, mounting from the surface of the lake and slowly dissipating as it rises above the crater rim.
Leavitt theorized that the phenomenon may indicate some volcanic activity still in the area.
