If you are an Oregon vehicle owner and wish to support Crater Lake National Park, while displaying a beautiful license plate, you can now do that. An Act of the Oregon legislature was passed in July 2001 to establish the Crater Lake Centennial License Plate program in honor of Crater Lake National Park’s centennial. The plates went on sale at Oregon DMV offices in August 2002.
Proceeds from the Centennial plates go directly to support projects at Crater Lake National Park, including the Crater Lake Science and Learning Center.
The Science and Learning Center will support both researchers and educators, inviting and supporting high quality scientific investigations and then incorporating research findings into management goals, interpretive programs and resources for educators from kindergarten through the university level. Funds from the Centennial License Plate will be administered through the National Park Foundation.
