The North Entrance Road at Crater Lake National Park is now open.
The road allows motorists traveling along Highway 97 to enter the park through the south entrance near Fort Klamath and exit to Diamond Lake and Chemult without having to backtrack.
Park Superintendent Chuck Lundy said Rim Drive, which circles the lake, is being opened in segments. The entire 33-mile long road is expected to be open by early July.
Services at other park facilities are also gradually opening. Crater Lake Lodge opened in late May and reservations can be made by calling (541) 830-8700. The Rim Village cafeteria and gift shop are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. while the Mazama Village store and gas station are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Mazama Village Motor Inn is scheduled to open Saturday while Mazama Campground is expected to be open on Friday, June 14, weather permitting.
Lake boat tours are tentatively scheduled to begin June 26. The cost will be $19.25 or $11.50 for youth age 3 to 11.
