National Park Service Cultural Landscapes Inventory: The Watchman, Crater Lake National Park, 2001
Boundary Description
The Crater Lake National Historic Landmark District Nomination, 1988, defines the boundary of Watchman Observation Station as formed by lines completing a rectangle extending 200 feet out from the four sides of the tower, encompassing the flagstone terrace and observation points on the east of the lookout tower, and the curved stairs that wind around the south and east of the building. Watchman Trail, including a segment which follows a portion of the original Rim Road, is aligned from Rim Road to Watchman Observation Station. The trail prism extends 5’ from the centerline of the trail in either direction.
