Donald Sankey Farner
Donald Farner (1915-1988) spent five summers at Crater Lake National Park as a seasonal naturalist (Assistant Park Naturalist in 1951-1952) while at Washington State University.
Among his many accomplishments, he was president of the American Ornithologists’ Union (1973-1975) and Editor of The Auk. Donald Farner earned a B.S. degree from Hamline University and the M.A. (1939) and Ph.D. (1941) degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
