Crater Lake National Park Centennial Oral Histories
Lois Huetten (Slessler), 1966
I worked in the gift shop in the lodge the summer of 1966. If I recall correctly my wage was $1.10 an hour! It turned out that summer was the one in which I saved the most for college. I think it was because there was no where to spend it! No car, no shopping malls, no nothing except a group of kids all the same age who created their own fun (first and last time I drank Seagrams 7). It was truly one of the most fun times of my life.
I look forward to the reunion and hope there are some others who attend from the class of ’66.
