Activity Type: Monitoring

Subject/Discipline: Other

Objectives: Develop large scale vegetative propagation and seedling propagation protocols. 2) Determine the physical and biological factors significant to the establishment success of C. mazama. 3) Develop photographic monitoring protocols for long term monitoring of populations. 4) Develop educational materials for both the generic public and park personnel.

Findings and Status:  Large scale vegetative propagation and seedling propagation methods have been developed. The finaly field plant was conducted in the spring of 1999, with a total of 1000 clones and seedlings having been successfully propagated and planted in Fall 1997,Spring 1998, Fall 1998 and Spring 1999, with preliminary survival estimates exceeding 90%. A total of 15 photo plots for long-term population monitoring were established within the park.

For this study, were one or more specimens collected and removed from the park but not destroyed during analyses? No
