March 25 1868 The William Steel Family leaves Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, heading for southeastern Kansas. They settle on a farm near Oswego in Labette County.
September 5 1868 A Mr. Cowley and a Mr. Beal, of the Rogue Valley, visit the Lake with Cpt. Sprague. Two of the men descend to the water.
